Headquarters of Christianity
The Southern African Development Community (SADC) has its headquarters in Gaborone, Botswana, whereas the African Union (AU) is administered from Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. What about Christianity? For the Roman Catholic Church, Rome is the centre of administration.
With Christianity, The Heaven is the headquarters. The bible says “The heaven is my throne and the earth is my footstool”(Isaiah 66v1). This connotes the omnipresence attribute of the father. Someone may however ask that if God is everywhere, why is he sometimes referred to as being in heaven? The answer is simple. It means heaven is his centre of operation and therefore it becomes our headquarters as Christians.
